Stokwolf & the environment

Stokwolf believes nature and the environment are among the most important things in the world. With her illustrations, she would like to show you the beauty of your surroundings. She also critically considers the environmental impact of her products in their design, packaging, and shipping.

Products

All cards, prints, and birth announcements are printed on Biotop paper or an off-white paper that is chlorine-free bleached (FSC certified). The envelopes you can order with your cards are made from recycled paper, Biotop paper, or PaperWise paper. PaperWise paper is made from agricultural waste such as leaves and stems from crops.

Product packaging

Plastic is avoided as much as possible. Where plastic is needed for packaging or presentation, compostable plastic is used. This plastic can be disposed of with your organic waste. However, never throw this plastic in your plastic waste, but always in your residual waste if you don't have a separate organic waste collection system.

Plastic is (still) found in the following product packaging:

- Some older A4 prints: some prints are in plastic foil bags. It's a shame to throw these away unused.

- Table posters and birthday posters in a tube: the cap of the tube is made of plastic. Unfortunately, no suitable alternative has yet been found.

The cardboard used for the mini-card packaging is made of PaperWise paper. This is paper made from agricultural waste such as leaves and stems from crops.

Shipping

- All products are wrapped in paper: tissue paper or paper bags.

- All shipping packaging is made of brown cardboard or brown kraft paper. We do not use plastic shipping packaging or packaging containing plastic (bubble wrap). Therefore, letterbox-sized parcels are somewhat heavier, and the shipping costs are slightly higher.

- The box filler material is made of brown kraft paper. In very rare cases, plastic filler material is used, which Stokwolf receives in orders from its suppliers.

- Cardboard shipping packaging received by suppliers is reused as much as possible for shipping orders. This also applies to the filler material received in these orders.

- The shipping packaging is sealed with brown paper tape.

- Stokwolf uses the following postal services for delivery within the Netherlands: PostNL and DHL.
